APPLIED FUTURES

We can't predict futures. We can rehearse them.

Every institution facing a decision about emerging technology has the same problem: the assumptions that matter most are the ones nobody says out loud. Meetings produce performance. Reports produce agreement without belief.

A rehearsal produces disclosure. I design structured encounters with the future, built from research and worked through by the people whose decisions matter. Sometimes that is a wargame, where people make choices under pressure and live with the consequences. Sometimes the question needs taking apart instead: critical uncertainties, causal layered analysis, backcasting, consequencing, or an artefact from a future made real enough to argue with. The method fits the question. What surfaces, either way, is what people actually assume, value and fear.

The output is not consensus. It is a map of assumptions, risks and trade-offs your team keeps using after I leave.
